THE TRIUMPH OF DAVID
The life of Kind David has fascinated historians, writers and artists, and has been a major issue of debate as to how he accomplished his victories. Here the intention is to portray the virtue Justice (Justitia) as part of the heroic events that happened in David’s life. David has just finished defeating the Philistine army after slaying Goliath the giant. Being a shepherd boy, at the end of the day he goes back to the wilderness to gather his father’s flock. On his way he encounters a lion which he battles to its death with his bare hands. There is no record that indicates that this actual event

happened, but there are accounts that David battled lions and bears that attacked his father’s flock. I have improvised and added all these heroic events into one scene. This scene is divided into three realms. The earthly realm, with David, and Justice, the intermediate realm, and the celestial realm. In the intermediate realm there are four angels carrying instruments that led David to the throne.
